yousif
The GTI will be my first turbo car and I heard that I have to wait for the turbo to cool before turnig off the car. Do I have to wait for few minutes before you turn off the GTI for the turbo to cool down after driving fast or turning it off as soon as I stop the car is OK?? skifly
there was a thread about this a while ago - the simple answer is that the GTI looks after itself and does the cooling on its own if you are so curel as to rag it home then just switch off and walk away. In theory you are supposed to be nice to a turbo car and let it idle for a minute though. Personally there is so much traffic near my place i never need to worry about letting to turbo cool!! GTiMK5
If you just drive steady for the last couple of minutes of your journey then it should be fine. If you are ragging it right up to your front door then you will need to let the engine idle for a minute or 2.
