Ari
How about a 321hp M3 convertible for under £15K!!! Lot of car for the money!
activa
Nice colour too! I can see them dropping well below that figure as the late shape come down in price. They will be a gift at sub ten grand!
R32North
Evo's had shitty engines compared to the non-Evo's of the same era (according to a BMW specialist I was reading about the other day).
RossG
Whenever I think about spending 18K on a used R or an new VXR or a new Octy vRS I find myself looking at these on Autotrader. Its just the maintenance that scares me off. Although I did see a nice example in estoril blue, with under 40k on the clock on a 99 V and it was still covered by a bMW warranty. All for £15.5k. Now that really did get me thinking...

[/ QUOTE ] I think that one's on eBay too. @ Ari - being an E36 owner, my opinion is that whilst that is indeed a lot of car for the money (£45k new?), it is a little overpriced. Its a '98 R, the mileage is good, but its green. I like it, but its still green. My silver '99 T plate with 65k miles, recent BMW nappa leather retrim and hardtop carried the same asking price. And that was at the start of the summer!!

Ari
Crikey. Not looked at prices, just thought that was a serious high quality performance cabrio for that kind of cash. Guess they're even better value than I thought then!
AudiPartner
[ QUOTE ] Guess they're even better value than I thought then! [/ QUOTE ] They are very good value to buy. No so good value to maintain which is why its important to buy a good one with few owners and a proper service history. I remember my first M3 had a horrible rattling noise from the exhaust. It needed a new centre section which I think was £900. Told 'em to just rip the loose heatshield off instead! Best value M3's have got to be the early one's I think. The 3.0 5 speed car I think is the stronger of the two. You can pick up a tidy 1995 coupe for about £6-7k. What a weapon for the price of a new fiesta!
