Whenever I think about spending 18K on a used R or an new VXR or a new Octy vRS I find myself looking at these on Autotrader.

Its just the maintenance that scares me off.

Although I did see a nice example in estoril blue, with under 40k on the clock on a 99 V and it was still covered by a bMW warranty. All for £15.5k.

Now that really did get me thinking...

shocked.gif or you could spoil yourself, there's an E46 M3 on Autotrader for under £18k !!

Aye, the Y plater with 105,000 miles on the clock!

It'll take a very very very brave person to go for that!

I think that one's on eBay too.

@ Ari - being an E36 owner, my opinion is that whilst that is indeed a lot of car for the money (£45k new?), it is a little overpriced. Its a '98 R, the mileage is good, but its green. I like it, but its still green.

My silver '99 T plate with 65k miles, recent BMW nappa leather retrim and hardtop carried the same asking price.

And that was at the start of the summer!! smashfreakB.gif

Guess they're even better value than I thought then!

They are very good value to buy. No so good value to maintain which is why its important to buy a good one with few owners and a proper service history. I remember my first M3 had a horrible rattling noise from the exhaust. It needed a new centre section which I think was £900. shocked.gif Told 'em to just rip the loose heatshield off instead!

Best value M3's have got to be the early one's I think. The 3.0 5 speed car I think is the stronger of the two. You can pick up a tidy 1995 coupe for about £6-7k. What a weapon for the price of a new fiesta! ECLIPSe.gif

How could you say no to this?

THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE BEST CONVERTIABLE IN THE MIDLANDS IF NOT IN THE UK

THIS CAR HAS BEEN MODIFIED TO A VERY HIGH STANDERED WITH THOUSANDS SPENT ON IT BY MYSELF

WITH PEOPLE LIKE AC AUTOMOTIVE AND AUTOVOUGE HAVING HAD THERE HANDS ON IT YOU KNOW THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE BMW

IT HAS A ONE OFF FERRARI BACK BUMPER WITH A STAINLESS STEEL QUAD EXHAUST CONVERSION.
