Bungle
Hi, I have been "lurking" for a month or so now and have decided to take the plunge and purchase a Gti. The question is Graphite Blue or Steel Grey. I have seen loads of steel grey cars, but no graphite blue. If anyone has any pics of a Graphite Blue Gti I would really appreciate it. I was planning on using select to import the car. Anybody had any good/bad experience with select. Thanks.
RedRobin
Welcome Bungle the "lurker"! I guess there are quite a few guys lurking on here. I think you'll find the company of our motley crew very helpful and anyway, you'll need plenty of emotional support during your agonising wait for the GTI you order! There's a thread on here specifically about Select and if no-one can post Graphite Blue here there might be some pics in the Gallery. Also try Search on words "Graphite Blue". If possible there is no substitute for seeing your chosen colour in the 'flesh'....Worth travelling for imo.

WhiteHArtMart
Give it 10 days or so and I should be in possession of a nice new 5 door Graphite Blue GTI!! Oh and welcome to the site!!
mu71rd
and give it about 2-3 weeks, and I'll have a car from Select. I have had no problems with them, and you can't argue with their prices. Shaun is very communicative and seems to know a lot about the Golf, even though they sell loads other makes/models. it's slightly more complicated paying in Euros, but having never done it before in my life, I can assure you that it is very straight forward. Scott W has also got a car on the way from Select, which sounds like it will arrive a couple of weeks before mine, so he may chip in here too... [/ QUOTE ] Yeah right Red!! Do you realise how agonising it is to have you all talking about how good your GTi's are while we lesser mortals are waitng for our cars? My DSG does this, my Xenons do that, exaust noise here, bhp there...!! I want my GTi now!!!! Are October and November the longest months in the year or is it just me and my GTi on order? RedRobin
I'm sorry about that (Tee-Hee) but I'm sure you also pick up some really useful info while waiting and even get entertained occasionally. October is passing reeeeeal fast! so it must be just you!! It's as Scott says: We've all been there....and so you have to suffer too!....It's part of the initiation ceremony before owning a Mk5 GTI. RedRobin
Ooops!! Sorry Dom....Both you and Scott use a chrome VW badge avatar (though different from each other). I often only read the avatar as an identifier....Comes from being a retired/retarded graphic designer....My fault.

Paddy_Driver
Hi Bungle, Just started posting myself and the colour and what size wheels was last decision - this forum made me decide finally on 18" and we are now decided to go Graphite Blue. I have some pics on my digital camera (Well my wife has it in UK at present) so will send them when I get them. For now start with the below link to (Dare I say it) another forum on GTI's. There are lots of pics in this thread - go Blue Graphite though! its top class: http://www.forum.golfgti.co.uk/index.php?topic=25756.0 Paddy
WhiteHArtMart
Nice link mate - a collection of pics from several other sources I think!! Shame that these don't do the Blue Graphite justice though - wouln't want anyone to be put off this colour. Really do have to see it in the flesh (same as all of them I guess) - I though it looked superb, especially in the sun! Be good to see your pics when you get the camera back - I'll hopefully be posting some in 10 days or so when my car gets delivered!
