zelnik
HI Guys, My original gamma head unit died (sony) so have recently bought a new one (sony again) and a 6cd indash combo off ebay. The replacement gamma head unit works fine, but apon attaching the 6CD Indash plug it (the cd player) startss up the cd 1 light stays on the cd 2 light flashes for about 20 seconds then the motor stops and the cd 1 light is still lite up. I then try and load a cd into the unit but it will not automaticaly take it and if pushed gently in and either load or cd1/2/whatever button is pressed it spits it out. Also when pressing the CD button for a brief second it says reading cd1 track 1 then "ERROR" pops up. Is there anything i'm doing wrong? it should just be a connect and go job? there is nothing i have to set on the gamma head unit is there? Please help like an idiot I did a deal with the seller outside of ebay as I wanted it urgently, so technicaly i don't have a leg to stand on in terms of refund I've noticed it has an extra in/output on the back (cd player) for a plug of some sort, 2 pin.. what is that for? pritesh
could you be more specific ....your indash 6CD changer....is this the factory changer or aftermarket? do you have the model number of the sony headunit?
zelnik
Ah sorry ppp666 wasn't aware there were other indash 6cd changers.. The headunit is a VW Sony Gamma V and the 6CD is the original VW indash unit made by Sony. I'm starting to think there is a CD jammed inside it as as soon as the power goes to it the motor accesses and it does what i mentioned in the first post then the cd 1 light stays on. Not to mention the rollers (the mechanism used to push/pull the cd) is always trying to spit cds out and it's not once tried to load a cd.
pritesh
sounds like a fault within the changer....it is possible that the motor loading and unloading CDs is nackard!
zelnik
Opened it up and it was a stray CD, was working for about 30 mins then another CD just went awol so it's obviously a broken loading mechanism. Fingers cross I get a refund Thanks for you help
