Bungle
There was a set of 4 17" gti alloys with tyres (less than 800 miles) on ebay recently for £450. The tyres alone must be worth that.
Bungle
Oops, New zealand, might be a bit pricey from the UK !!!
RedRobin
Hi LPDGTI1, Ooops!! I don't know about "war trophy" mate! Why not take that idea a step further and add bodywork/window stickers of other cars you've 'shot down' like fighter pilots do. Here's that attachment:
Ken1
you want to see my 18" that I did yesterday , it looks f****d !! Will try to post a picture. Sorry for your trouble !
silentandy
Did you see my post a week ago? That should be repairable since it's only on the surface. They'd be able to smooth that off and repaint easily enough.
nutkins
Yep that'll come up as good as new - Bit gutted to hear about yours though Ken33. Not sure anyone's come up with a way of refurbing the 18's yet with their fancy finish. Good luck though.

Paddy_Driver
Lads (& Ladies) Its gonna happen... besides, speeding past your prey at 100 they won't have long enough to focus on your wheels. Make sure you melt their retinas too with a good blast of the Xenon's too... I am resigned to have well kerbed alloys within a few months, after all it will be wife doing it so I might just take her out soon after we get it and do it for her so she does not run off for a few weeks in fear of coming home and telling me about it! Could someone not perfect parking sensors that detect kerbs - or VW could put on those mirrors that dip automatically when you are in reverse and trying to parallel park... mu71rd
like the idea of automatically dipping mirrors - I've broken the mirror knob off my car I use it so much!
kev_fleming
Have suffered the same fate, and have similar damage on my 17's. Does anyone know a good repair company in or around Surrey?
Tunner
Goodyear F1 GSD's are the best tyre for avoiding kerbing, as they have a small element of sidewall protection, unlike my Potenza's
Jsparkesuk
Is the top left chipped??? Or is it just my eyesight?
