harminder
Hi all, Just about to purchase a Golf Gti 150bhp for the wife and was wondering if anyone can give me rough price for a cambelt change (plus water pump)? The car has done 77k and never had a cambelt change and so just wanted to be on safe side and get it done.. If I know the price of a cambelt change (plus anything else that can be done at the same time) then I'm sure I can get it knocked off the asking price!! Thanks guys.. sotty
Had a cambelt fitted at 65k at local garage that does all our company cars (not vw dealer)..I paid £130 and that included an oil change. VW stealer wanted £
shark_90
The cam belts on the 150 engine are at the side instead of the front like the 130 engines. I'd tell your man around the 250/275 mark.. but I'd also be weary that it hasn't been properly looked after. Cam belts are meant to be done every 60k.. Seen a few golf turbos with cambelts not yet done after 60k.....some as high as 85k!! Ohh well, will budget around £300 tops to be on safe side!!
