First Service cost ?

This was my first post that brought me to TSN!

Although mine is a Tdi 130 sootchucker, I learned the 1st service costs are virtually the same.

In February 2005, mine was £278 after 16,000 (2 years) of ownership. The labour rate for the dealer was a cool £100/hr (£85+VAT) - I know because I asked wink.gif

I'm no expert but I don't think the oil change in the Haldex coupling is required until 30,000 miles.

Edit - so it should still be <£300 169144-ok.gif

Cheers Milo, my only thought was this is my first Audi with a non Haldex Quattro. I belive the A4 uses the tradtional torsion system but I am not an expert either.

Looking to have mine serviced before it's first anniversary of ownership so that any faults can be done under warranty. Quote thus far £303.41. So I would hope your S-Line is no more than this.

Does everyone get the same oil in their Audi's i.e. Castrol SLX Longlife II. I wondered if this is why mine is more expensive than others as the V8 holds a staggering 9 litres which is around £100 in itself EEK2.GIF

PG you sure Longlife II (vag 503.00) is the right oil for a S4? I would've thought it might be SLX (vag 503.01) - Check your handbook 169144-ok.gif

Can you really supply your own oil for the service? shocked.gif

I always filled my washer bottle before putting the Stilo in for a service and they always found space to put some more in and charge me for the priviledge. It was only a couple of £, but that's not the point, is it? SAUER0421.GIF

When my first service is eventually due, I think I'll tape up the lid. SMOKE6.GIF

Yep, that's what was in my little leather bag in the boot as a top up and have been using it ever since. But you've got me paranoid so I'll check my handbook.

TBH , PG the dealers are normally clueless.............

Been discussed on TSN many, many times before (oil).

Who knows? The difference must be very slight. They are both 0w30 both Castrol................... But one is 503.00 and the other is 503.01. confused.gif

TBH in a big lazy lump like your 4.2 V8 , I doubt it very much. But Audi don't spec' oils for nothing.

My car has 503.00 (SLX L/Life II) but the 3.0 V6 has 503.01 (SLX) on LongLife Service.

Just check your handbook - let us know.

Always worth checking.

Interesting that the 3.0V6 - S3 - TT225 - RS4 and a few others use the SLX (503.01) on LongLife service .................. confused.gif
