felixthecat1
I’m no fan but it is a rare sight so I snapped it.
Ari
They're a great car! To get in the windows drop into the doors (as per normal) but then the doors drop into the sills! Means you can drive around in summer roof off and no doors, beach buggy style!
NewNiceMrMe
They're a fantastic car. You can pick up a good one for around £10-13k and a very good one for £15k. They're also getting to the point where depreciation is virtually nil - and are a decent motoring investment.
Ari
Pity they were all LHD.
NewNiceMrMe
[ QUOTE ] Pity they were all LHD. [/ QUOTE ] There are a few RHD one's in the BMW Car Club GB, all of which were converted by Griffin Motorsport. One of them sold (to another forum user) recently for about £14k. v15ben
So what is the base car for the Z1 then? There used to be one parked on the way to my dad's work which I would see every day when I dropped him off. Awesome looking car and incredibly rare - wouldn't mind one myself one day! Omi
It's basically a 325i Sport under there
Ari
Yup, and todays useless car trivia fact is that when they developed the car they used a basically stock 325i engine, but the Z1 cornered so well that they experienced problems with g force pushing all the oil up one side of the sump causing oil starvation issues. I belive they modified the sump in production cars (baffled sump I guess).
shao_khan
Just reading a post on the ttforum - a guy has just brought one. Wheels are no longer available - so guess it will be an expensive search. Some of those at the cheaper end of the market apparently are likely to need some essential works - and appaentl nothing is cheap on them - no suprise there then. Omi
Anything mechanical is a doddle... - Anything body or other unique parts on them will hurt a lot.

Thorburn
Apparently the windows and doors some times go out of sync so they don't look quite right, but they don't tend to go wrong.

J_C
I saw this one back in June, but never got around to posting the pics up: Not my favourite BMW I have to say, but at least it wasn't a
