Tyre wear on A8 Quattros

Had new tyres last week. The fronts were only just legal all over but had worn more heavily on the outside edges. The tyre place mentioned a camber check.

Running a search on this at the weekend there seems to be quite a few old posts and comments about uneven wear on the fronts.

Question I suppose is do other have similar experience with wear. I dont want to waste £250 at stealers on full alignment unless its necessary. ie is the wear a case of "they all do that sir"??

My 8 isn't a quattro but heres my two cents worth anyway; my fronts wear evenly and wear agressively quicker than the rears; I replaced the two front tyres a couple of months ago but the rears are the same I've had for over 30k miles

Tyre wear on mine is even across the tyre as they should be (because I had a 4 wheel alignment done ).

Front tyres wear faster than the rear though.

My fronts are wearing on the outer rims, rears seem even.

By the way, i'm sure AmD do 4-wheel alignment for much less than £250

I got mine done at Parklands Audi in Cheltenham for £140.00 and worth every penny for the peace of mind alone. To replace the tyres @ £260.00 per corner it makes sense to get the camber sorted out.
