silentandy
Just wondered how many people on here now have an ipod nano? The gf wants one for xmas but I've heard of production quality problems with scratched screens etc. Has anyone experienced this?
Sparky
Yeah, there are some issues at the moment. Apple won't have it, but some people in America are suing Apple. They are small, but to be honest, if you flick through a Hi-Fi mag, they rate many other players higher.
randellp
I think the real benefit of an ipod now is itunes support for everything, and integration with hardware (other AV systems, cars etc). As for scratched screens, use metal polish (Brasso or Peek) or even toothpaste to remove scratches. It's what I do with my CDs, DVDs and mobile phone to keep them new looking. syeldham
I'd prefer a mini to a nano, it's slightly cheaper (it was at last glance) and to be honest, if it get's any smaller my fat fingers wouldn't be able to use it.
Chelsea Mick
I think it's horses for courses really... I got a nano 2 weeks ago for commuting (I work in Holland). I have allso got a 40gig 4th gen iPod too. The 40gig one is really cubersome on the plane and I found I wasn't using it as much as I should due to being too lazy to hook it all up etc... The Nano suits me perfectly. Just sits in my pocket and hardly know it's there. I did hear that there were some issues with build qality before I brought it but I'd thought I'd give it a go anyway. My thoughts are that I can't see what people are on about. The build quality to me appears very good. It's solid the click wheel works just the same as my 4th gen iPod. I do believe that the people that have had issues are caused by thier own causes. Like people putting them in thier back pockets then sitting down I mean it is going to be a bit delicate due to the actual size of it. The sound quality is on par with all the other iPods but I don't use the earphones Apple supply. I use the Sony earbuds. Better quality and fit right inside your ears elimnating most back ground noise leaving you to hear the track clearly. The colour display is nice and clear and it displays the album cover if you've attached it when id tagging. Anyway these are my thoughts and I am selling my 4th gen iPod and keeping the Nano so it can't be all that bad. Oh and the Nano is a good bit of kit for having the latest gadget
