jonnie
As i am selling my car i have this chip available if anyone is interested. It does improve both performance and economy on car. Mpg goes up about 4mpg and a lot quicker on motorway 60mph and up. Its still got box and warranty and just plugs into engine. take a look http://www.mrhoot.com/proddetail.asp?prod=TBPD050 cheers Jonnie

Rustynuts
It's not a "Chip". Chipping a car (or remapping as it can be known) is a way of changing the ECU operating parameters to increase performance. The existing ECU chip is either removed and a new chip with the revised data is soldered into its place, or the remapping method just changes the data on the existing chip. More boost is delivered and fuelling is altered etc to give the car a new performance / torque profile. What this item does is plugs into the fuelling system and interferes with the start and duration of fuel injection, so increasing the amount of fuel burnt. It does give a good performance boost, and is easily removed if necessary, but doesn't do the job that a chip does. It's generically called a "Tuning Box". jonnie
thanks for your words of wisdom. all i know is the mpg goes up by 4mpg and the speed increases a lot faster on motorway. Just reading your explanation does not explain this so im guessin there is more to it, as economy is improved. It adds around 25bhp putting it to 165bhp. It works trust me. if anyone is interested i get in contact.
jonnie
sorry forgot to say ive only had it 6 mnths so still 2 and a half yr warranty left. Also its doesnt effect warranty on car because you just unplug it for service. open to any genuine offers!
