Timing belt changed?

Any body had their timing belt changed? How can you tell it's been changed?

Apparently the PD TDis need a change at 60k miles, and petrol versions at 80k.

Is it an expensive job?

Not had it done, but did check out prices before trading in my B6 at 54k (PD130) price wise around 350 seemed ave.

As far as telling if its been done I guess a dealer receipt for the works is about as good as it gets

just had mine done a week ago on a TDI 130/B6 , had the tensioner, timing belt, water pump done and some new windscreenwipers cost was £403 all in at a local VAG specialist , only problem i had was the headlights were a touch low on the road but I've fixed that now , mileage was 59k but the garage had a book that said it should be changed at 55k , he showed me the old belt and it was starting to crack in between the V's on the inside of the belt , so don't leave it too long

Any B6 cab owners had their timing belt changed yet ? , or will I be the first , I was hoping on a figure of around £400 too

Checked the service schedule book and the PD TDi engines require a cam belt replaced at 60k miles, V6 petrol & TDis at 80k, and other petrol engines at 115k.

I had the 3rd AVS service, front wipers and "cambelt, tensioner, multi ribbed belt and aircon belt" changed yesterday, all for the princely sum of £768.59.
