Monitor advice

Looking for a flat panel monitor and come across an Acer one that is 19" and just £170. Now I know Acer aren't exactly the greatest manufacturer in the world but for just a cheap and cheerful effort to do the job are they worth a look at all?

Didn't really want to spend over £200ish and would like 19" if possible (have 17" now so could live with that if necessary!) so any other suggestions will be gratefully received.

any chance somewhere like pc world has one to take a look at? You can at least get an idea of how well it performs etc. I don't think the more expensive ones are that fantastic we have expensive viewsonics at work they don't look any better than some cheap ones i have seen and their customer service for returns is just as bad!

It depends what you are using them for, word processing, web browsing, etc pretty much any panel will do.

Photo editting and the likes you need to start looking at brightness and contrast ratios.

Gaming want low reaction times.

I spent £370 on my Dell 2005FPW and don't regret it one bit 169144-ok.gif

This is the crux of it I guess. I just want it for surfing, word processing, spreadsheets and looking at my photo's on.
