Robin. On my old R, I used the stock Aristo's over the winter only and has BBS Challenge wheels with GYF1's over the summer - brilliant combination. I'll be doing the same with the new R, albeit, I'll have to buy replacement BBS's due to the different offset on the MkV!! 169144-ok.gif TP.

vs the 130i

On the rolling road, the R32 only put out 217hp (vs 246 claimed) yet still managed a 5.8 0-60 as a non-DSG.

Was a tight engine and they want to test another.

Grill still looks ar$e on a silver car.

Never trust a rolling road. They could go back tomorrow and get 250hp. Its all dwn to programming in teh right numbers at the start!

I'm surprised that after all these posts nobody has mentioned the fact that EVO said they'd buy an M 130i instead....

Probably because its the better car, but for some of us looks are important as well. But saying that the MKV / new .:R isn't stunning by any means.

The 130 is not the car it should be - although it gets good reviews in Evo - the reviews in Car, Autocar, and Auto express all suggested the R32 was a better all rounder -

Apart from anything else the BMW is horrible looking, and is pretty steeply priced (ok the r32 aint cheap, but at least it is better value)

In CAR mag the previous month the R32 was judged better. They're clearly very closely matched and which you prefer will be based on your particular circumstances. For me I prefer the practicality of the VW's better internal size and boot, the fact that it's 4-wheel drive system will provide far superior traction in the frequently wet UK roads, and because of the DSG. Can't deny that I looked long and hard at the BM though.

Be interesting to see what responses this thread would get in one of our BM forums.

I like the look of neither, but I can't help but feel that dealer service & build quality would be marginally better with BMW over VW? If I were Stevie Wonder I know which I'd probably drive.
