i kept getting flashed with my xenons all the time. i took it into my stealers and they said theres nothing they can do as they cant adjust the xenons. just got back from france for a driving holiday and reset the lights with the adjustable levers in the lights. was still getting flashed so i took it into a dealers over there and before id even explained myself to the actual service guys they'd plugged in their computer to the car and said the lights are set too high, they reset them lower with the computer and then checked them and they were fine. and they didnt even want any money from me. hows that for service !!! havnt been flased once now.

Crazy how my stealer that i spent £26,000 with cant be bothered to help and a french dealer ive never set foot in before sorted it out with no fuss and no charge....must be just our english dealers that are crap !!!

well when I went for my testdrive some 4 months ago, I was totally sold, but explained to him that I was investigating other options too (such as importing).

I walked out from the stealers and subsequently have never heard from him again. What is their problem?!

cant seem to get them to sort out the wing mirror whistle at 80 mph either, they admitted its a common fault and were meant to phone me back to get it sorted. that was 3 weeks ago.

maybe i should threaten to report them to vw uk but if they dont care either then what hope do i have...

why should there be such a difference between vw uk and vw france? maybe its the typical rip off britan culture !!!

such a great car and such crap stealers.

Just goes to show if you doing get it fixed at one dealer goto another. Theres no reason people have to go back to your original dealer they bought the car off for any work. Things like this should be done for free as its a legal requirement for the lights to be properly aligned so if there incorrect the cars not road worthy so VW have to fix it for free if its under warrenty.

For example if you got stopped by the MOD inspector that do roadside checks on cars (and they do stop new cars too not just old ones) and it was found you had your lights incorrect aligned they would make you get them reset and then want proof in the form of an MOT test certificate to prove it has been done. And yes they would still make you get the car MOTed even though it does not need it at this age as its proof to them you have had it fixed and the only proof they will accept so that would leeve you out of pocket the cost of an MOT. So my advice to anyone that thinks there lights are set incorrect hassle your VW dealers until they fix it for free.
