VAG Tool

Well, thought I'd buy a VAG tool for the '99 A8 2.8 Sport Auto to do some Betty Wainthrop'in!

Where's the ISO plus located - Anyone know?

Also, once I've used VAG-COM tool I'll post it on here and if anyone needs it they can borrow it for free - hows that!

Jobs needing doing are so far:

Cambelt.

CV boots

Oil in gearbox & filter

Plugs and all filters.

Anyone got any tips on a parts source or is it down to the local factors?

Update:

well, car ('99 2.8 Sport) went in Friday for Cam belt and CV Boots.

Costs:

Cam Belt parts (inc Tensioner kit) - £150.23 + Vat

CV Boots - £16.22 + Vat

Labour £75 for Cam belt, £45 for CV boots (std 1 hour?)

Total cost £336.59 inc Vat.

Rang up Wednesday in Friday am, job done, very happy with service.

The car has been main dealer serviced for the last 4 years - until it was 3 it was every service, then 3+ years its inspection and brake fluids, the last proper service was at 75K for the cam belt.

In 2004 when it hit 100K I decided that it wasn't worth continuing with the MDSH. I have changed the oil&filter from 3years+ every 10K myself anyway.

The inspection was done by MD every time the comp said it was due up to 130K - now I've bought a VAG Tool there's no point.
