Neimad
Read the article on 4Car I wonder if any of these will make production? It could certainly be interesting if they do...
silentandy
Can't see any of them going to market as they would be in direct competition with Audi's performance models.
NeilB
Agreed, besides those sporty models should really be in Audi's line up rather then VW's. More chance of selling them that way.

Okay so it's dull again now but that's no reason for it to stay that way. You're right, they will never see the light of day (please prove me wrong) but that's a shame. Be honest, the new B6 Passat is a much better looking car than the current Audi A4.

NeilB
VW have always provided good quality and affordable cars to the general masses. Not expensive, fast cars. Take the Phaeton for example, stick 4 rings on it and call it the A8 and it would probably sell, stick the VW badge on it and watch you loose your money hand over fist. Sparky
I've been in both - there is still a quality jump (ok, it's small), from VW to Audi.

[/ QUOTE ] Call it a Bently and start printing the money. Audi raised their game some years ago to try and close the gap on BMW. They still haven't done it yet and are seen as the 'poor mans BMW'. Audi still don't hold their value like a Beemer either, that doesn't make the Beemer a better car. Audi are even trying to be sporty, where as previously only solicitors bought them and there's nothing sporty about your average solicitor. As far a quality goes, I've been in a Mk5 Golf and I have to admit I was not impressed with the standard of trim, I thought it was poor compared with previous Golfs but that's the way things are going with all cars. malagus
That'll be the passat then. Modifications begin with a twin-turbo conversion package that features dual exhaust manifolds, each carrying a Garrett GT25R ball-bearing turbocharger. Charge cooling is optimized by twin intercoolers, and the exhaust gases pass through a quad bypass emissions system that retains the stock catalytic converters. It boasts an extraordinary output of 575 horsepower and massive torque to match.

Mook
[ QUOTE ] There's a growing likelihood that the R-GT models will, if they don't make it into production, at least influence some future members of the VW line-up, suggested Adrian Hallmark, the new US head of Volkswagen. [/ QUOTE ] I should bloody well hope so, because they made a right feckin pigs ear of the Mk5 R32. Big, chrome fronted lump of... No, I'll stop now.
