jon69
Replaced my passenger side headlamp unit recently, after trying for 5+ hours to do it myself i gave up and took it to local non vw garage who did the job BUT left off the motor that adjusts the height cos quote "There is no space available for it on this aftermarket unit!".....WTF !! when i got home i noticed a white plastic moulded pin in the bracket that suppose to house the motor, all i had to do is remove this pin and slot the motor back in it and HEY PRESTO! the thing works! Why dont these mechs read instructions for a change instead of wingin it and fobbin off us punters?

jon69
Lol.... yes i know! u would think a "simple" task like a headlamp was easy enough for my local garage instead of the stealers 10miles away but obviously not the case lol
R32North
All this car enthusiasum but no-one seems to do anything themselves anymore. Get yer hands dirty now and again!
pingpongpo
I would have thought the fitting of a headlamp would be a relatively easy process or have things changed that much since I repaired my car after having a minor shunt with my mate 7 years ago? (Don't worry, only smashed headlights and new bonnet required+small amount of reshaping front wing and welding back onto slam panel)
R32North
Most mod type jobs are pretty easy, ie brakes, suspension, exhaust, styling, etc. I only leave the real mechanics to the professionals, ie engine internals, remaps, etc.
