Gala 'switch' to enableTV in motion

Hi All,

I've installed a Dietz TV module into my B6 a4 with RNS-D.

I know that to enable TV in motion, I need to put a switch onto the 'Gala' wire, however, the Gala wire is split into 2 connections at the Headunit.

1 - Pin #1 on Connector III ( 8 pin )

2 - Pin #5 on Connector V ( 25 pin )

Do I need to 'cut' the gala wire before the split or do I need to leave one of the connections 'always on' and switch the other?

pin 1 on the 8 pin connector (blue and white) and if you have a mf steering wheel just cut the wire

No MF steering wheel..

So, will keeping the connection to pin #5 on the 25 pin plug keep the 'accuracy' of the navigation unit? I have read that cutting the Gala wire will cause innacuracies?

Can you not just wire in a switch - so you can break the gala wire when you want to watch the TV (rely on GPS for the nav so it updates slower) but can have teh gala feed for optimum navigation when not watching TV ?

cut the wire and see what happens, it works fine on my A4 with MF steering wheel as long as you keep the connection on pin 5 on the 25 pin plug, if the navi is slow to update fit a switch

My original intention is to fit a switch, however, I know from research that you can experience slow updates on the Nav. I just wondered if you wire the switch up so that it cuts both connections or just one.

i think i should have gone to skool then maybe my spelling whould be better and my posts clearer anyway fit the switch to pin 1 on the 8 pin connector only not on both feeds, pin 5 is the navi feed cutting this will slow the updates
