GT4 save game data

Oh dear oh dear.

I've just put GT4 in my PS2 and when it tried to auto-load the game data from my memory card as usual, it put an error message on my screen telling me "Game data is corrupted. Do you wish to retry", and now won't load my saved game. EEK2.GIFEEK2.GIFEEK2.GIF

The only thing I can think of that may have happened is that the last time I turned the console of with GT4 running, I somehow did so when it was doing one of it's auto-saves (by default it is set to save every chance it gets, I haven't changed this from the standard out-of-the-box settings). If memory serves, I had been re-running some of the S-license tests to try and get some Gold times under my belt and, after exiting the S-license screen which shows all the individual tests, I turned the console off and went downstairs for a cuppa. Now it's showing that error message when it tries to load my game!

Is there any way back, or am I starting anew? I was 70.8% complete, I had the four black LMP cars, all licenses, which were silver or above (no bronzes) and only this morning B-specced the Laguna Seca endurance race. I was at about 1750 days! To say I'm gutted that I may well have lost the lot is an understatement, I'm pretty pissed off with myself for not making sure that the save procedure had completed properly (I wasn't really paying attention at the time).

I feel like an idiot! Flush.gif

Thnaks guys, as it happens the game data was unrecoverable mad.gif but thankfully the other information on the memory card for my other games is OK smile.gif

I've started again with GT4 (some might think I'm a little crazy) and have got a smashing RX-7 GTC and have also reacquired my B, A, and iB licenses so far (all silver nad bronze awards, naturally). So far so good... UHOH7.GIF

Actually I'm quite enjoying it, really getting into it again (have been playing much more arcadey driving games recently like Burnout and NFSU2). I will persevere for now! 169144-ok.gif
