Calm Chris
Well I'm off to bonnie Edinburgh in the R32 tomorrow at 03:00. I bought a RA11 this afternoon and registered it straight away. Low and behold, it needs 24 hours to register in the system before I can sync / update to current camera where abouts. Does anyone know:- 1. Since it's not been updated, how inaccurate would the memory be? 2. Is it always a full 24 hour delay between registering and being able to update (or will I be able to update / sync just before I leave tomorrow)
RedRobin
I went through exactly the same but it's not quite as bad as you (and as I) imagine! The Road Angel unit you purchased will have the data already loaded as current at the time it was supplied to the retailer. So, it won't have the very latest data but it will have a significant amount. So, I cannot say exactly how up to date the data will be but what there is loaded will be accurate. NewNiceMrMe
I think you'll find the data on it will be 95% okay. I was pretty annoyed too when I found out about the registration period. But...beware...the route to Edinburgh is littered with speed cameras on both the A1 and A68. Don't forget that the routes around Edinburgh itself are a revenue dream too - so just be very careful. Oh, and watch out for a dark blue Volvo S60...because on Monday I saw one patrolling the road towards Glasgow. Five minutes or so later I saw it again....blasting up the other side of the carriageway with it's grille lights blazing and the Police sign on display... Calm Chris
Ta for the info. Was just about to put my head down, tried the sync again and I'm 82% loading at the moment. So it will be 100% for the journey. I'll keep to a steady 80' ish and see if I can get better than 20.1 average mpg! As a side note, night time driving is contrary, the roads are empty, but the vision is poor. Steady is the word.
