sweep1020
After looking on this site i immediately went for the pollen filter. However the filter itself was bone dry I could find no evidence of the seal arrangement only a soppy plastic box housing the filter and a crappy deflector lid that is far from easy to get back in. sweep1020
Now resolved ! Removed passenger front seat and lifted carpet. Underneath can only be described as a lake. Used an aquavac to remove water and wedged up carpet to allow air flow. Using a combination of 2kw heater and Hot air gun managed to dryout the carpets. The dealers gave me the pollen filter seal for nothing ,i guess embarrased ! The original seal was a soppy foam one the new one is a mastic strip type . Spent next week with Heater full on . BFC
I dried my passat following pollen seal renewal with a delonghi de-humidifier. managed to get out about 2 litres of water. I believe it is now bone dry.
aditz
I hope you are aware were that water comes from... It’s an old problem with the Passat. Check underneath the batter for blocked drains, I had this problem myself, you might find all sort of things under the battery, from leaves to grease.
