Demonstration of how location affects insurance!

Recommended Posts

We all know that where we live affects how much extra the insurance companies load our yearly premiums, but I was still surprised by what I found out today.

I live in a small village about 3 miles north of Norwich. A work mate lives in a small village about 2 miles west of Norwich. Today we were typing our details in to a car insurance website and just by changing the address from mine to his would increase a £500 yearly premium to £650. £150 a year increase just for going around 5 miles down the road. Petty crime is higher where he lives, so it was inevitable there would be a difference... but that`s like a 30% increase, even though the two places are still classed as being in the same city!

So today I`m grateful for living somewhere the insurance company likes smile.gif
