paffat
not a clue about adjustment, prob hydrolic, so self adjusting, you will have to check but had my head under my 1.8 20v today and gear box removal looks a doddle. BE SAFE if attempting diy job. H.
mulkbear
You can not adjust the clutch as it is hydrolic Changing the clutch is not as bad as some cars but a good tool kit is needed and the is a range of torx, spline and allen key bolts and the gear box is mounted like a Rear wheel drive car which is strange
tintsy
Thanks for that. I spoke to a mate hows got an Audi A4 with the same motor, He fitted a new clutch because he was like when he got it, with the pedle at the top, when he changed his clutch the pedle was the same, so I wonder are they all like this, My clutch does not slip at all, in any gear ?? karlosthejackal
Hi what is the mileage on your passat? the clutch on my 20v passat was the same as yours and it had 160,000 miles on it when i sold it, and I am pretty sure it was the original clutch.
