DHA
If two wireless networks run in houses close to each other can they reduce the signal power of each network?
mb
If you use a program like NetStumbler (http://www.netstumbler.com/downloads/) you can easily see what networks are near you & also the channel they are on. You can then change the channel of yours away from your neighbours - if you can't be bothered with NS then you can just set your channel to an extreme from where it is. CarMad
As above use netstumbler to have a look what channels they are using. The best / strongest to use are 1 6 and 11. But make sure if they are being used you are at least on your own and preferable a couple away from anyone elses to help things. I have 6 or 7 around me now and its a nightmare and I'm sure its affected my reach. So I have ordered a boosted Omni directional aerial that push the strength of mine up a couple of notches. DHA
I am running 6 at the moment but might give it a change and see if that helps any. Can't see any other networks using a scanning program but my wireless card can see a network when I am upstairs at the front of the house.
