wheel spacers

Could anybody advise on wheel spacers for my 'R'. I'd like to push the back wheels out as well as the front, but slightly more than the front, i think it looks wicked!!!

Unsure about the side-effects though.

I was looking at 20-25mm at the back, anybody know about the costs involved also suppliers/fitters? (im in the northwest).

Thanks!!

Supposedly 20mm at the back is a bit too much and will affect the handling, although I know it looks cool. I've got 15mm spacers on rear and 10mm on the front and if I was going on looks alone, I wouldn't have bothered with the fronts. I payed £250 for 4 spacers, longer bolts and a set of McGards locking bolts, although I think Tom's link will do this cheaper.

I run 10mm spacers all round, but only to get the front wheels to fit over the brake calipers following the ECS upgrade. Don't go to 20mm on the rear - too much strain on the rear hubs. IIRC, Dan32 runs 15mm spacers on the rear.

H&R is the way to go - as per Helfinger's post above.

Best of luck 169144-ok.gif

Mark32 - You're going to hate me. I built some parts as didn't want to drill thru the dash and couldn't find a flat surface to mount anything! I made some cardboard templates, transferred this to plastic, and then sanded it all to fit in the little slot next to the handbrake. As for the screen, took out the demister vent, and made a plinth, again in plastic, and mounted the demister vent in it so that it would slot straight back into its hole and provide a way of holding it in place, blended it all in with bodyfiller and sprayed it up. If you are getting the H&R kit, it doesn't come with the 20mm oversize wheel bolts. You'll also need 20mm oversize locking wheel bolts. McGard are the best on the market.

If you are getting the spacers for looks only, then go 15mm at the rear (and the longer bolts!), but would advise getting 10mm at the front as well - there won't be a problem with rubbing the arches with 10mm spacers on the front.

I think its a Richbrook one (I'll check in a bit) so most places do them. Stumbled on to it on the web so no idea who supplied it! Reception does suffer a bit. I don't listen to the radio that much but its not as good as standard. Also, I cut mine down to make it look like that so the reception probably suffered. Have heard that if you get solid brass beesting aerial, the reception is as good as standard. Not sure who does them though and what colours you can get.
