Do R engines loosen up after certain a mileage?

Mine feels more relaxed and less asthmatic than it did when new, its on 19k.

Thing is VAG engines tend to take up to 60k to loosen off fully and another 60k before they show signs of loosing power or a bit of wear.

At 22k tho its ripe for some breathing, ie exhaust, filter or CAI and if you want more a remap. Although as its an N/A engine a remap is costly in terms of power gains.

I've got 90.000 kms in mine. I'm still no feeling power-loses but feeling it a litle more free to get up in the revs. The exhaust mod has also helped.

approx 55k miles, which means its almost smack in the 'zone', ie at its best and will be like that for another 30-40k miles.

I do try! Not hard enough obviously.

Although I did manage a 30 mile round-trip last week taking her for the first variable service. beerchug.gif
