Arex
So, I parked my car at work as usual on Friday, making sure as always that there is enough clearance at the front of the car for the lower front spoiler you get with the Vortex kit. Just for the record, the kerb was about an inch below the front of the car so I thought everything was fine. Sadly not the case. What I didn't know is that the back of the front spoiler (hang with me on this one, I know it sounds odd) is actually lower than the front of the front spoiler. As far as I can tell there is a little dip at the back in the middle of the spoiler with a lip on it. Now, when I parked the car, although there was plenty of clearance at the front of the car, what I had done it nicely hooked this lip at the back of the spoiler over the kerb........ Now fast forward a whole working day and it is time to go home. I hopped in my car, and started to reverse out the parking bay. All I got was very little movement and a sound of plasic\metal wrenching as the car tried to reverse, but the bumper and spoiler were hooked over the kerb. This had the effect of twising the bumper into rather a strange shape and sadly wrecking the clips e.t.c. that hold the bumper to the car. An hour later and with the help of the RAC, we managed to get my car off the kerb and the bumper popped back into a far more agreeable shape, although sadly it is still knackered. I have atached some pics so you can see the damage (although now the bumper has popped back into shape it doesn't look too bad) and also so you can see how it caught on the kerb. It has gone to be assessed and I should get a quote tomorrow for the repair. Sadly this will need a new bumper and also a new front spoiler from the Vortex body kit. These two parts only are about £500, however the new front bumper from the SLine Exterior Pack looks almost exactly like the normal bumper with the Vortex front spoiler so what Audi are going to do is convert the car during the repair to give it the new A3 nose using the bumper from the SLine exterior pack. So if anyone is interested, I will post the parts you need and costs so you can see how much it is as you need a bumper, grille, fog lamp surrounds and a few other bits in case anyone is thinking of converting their car. Although I think unless you do something dumb like this it is going to be a little expensive!

Roswell
Are you sure they can do that work without changing the bonnet as well?? I was under the impression that the front of the bonnet was a slightly different shape. Could be wrong though! Sorry to see the damage to your motor mate! AntW
I did exactly the same thing on my old A4, hooked the bumper over a high kerb at the gym
