Chins
Anyone got a pic?, or is it the same as the GTI? Thanks Jonathan
GTI_Boi
Hi Chins, it's very similar to the GTI. Key differences are the R badge on the steering wheel, the GTI's brushed aluminium is replaced with (not sure what it's called) a different pattern (!); and the seats are the GTI's but with a different cloth or leather (unless you have the recarro's. R32North
Point being if you're buying an R32 you want a different interior to the GTi. Not saying the GTi's interior isn't good, but with a more expensive, more powerful, IMO better car, you definitely want a better interior! WTF are VW playing at not putting the best interior in the R32 to start with. Poor show VW
Chins
Does anyone know what the new pattern is? I agree with Six Degrees, it should at least have half leather/alcantara as std
Mook
Take a look through the Mk5 R32 gallery here
Dan32
The gallery link only has the very expensive upgraded Recaros, which are also to be offered on the new GTi and come as standard in the new Audi RS4 which means the R32 interior is definitely not limited edition! I have seen the basic interior, albeit with leather at the local stealers as they have a MKV demo car. Nothing special though. Here is the RS4 interior:
Dan32
According to VW website, R32 comes as standard with Monte Carlo cloth interior. Rather disgraceful that a car costing £25k doesn't come as standard with leather and there is no mention of half leather so could be full cloth! I noticed on the SEAT site that the full leather description states that "all parts touching the driver and passengers are real leather" implying that other parts are imitation leather, ie door panels, etc. I'd be inclined to think that this will be repeated on the new R32. I'm very unimpressed with how VW have spec'd the R32. Not as good as the last one thats for sure, but costing more!
