Waylander
HI I am about to do a reinstall and want to back up stuff first. I have found loads of duplication across the user on the PC and want to be able to identify all the duplicate jpegs [family pix etc] so that i can backup one copy of every and not waste space with 10 copies of the same pix in 5 different folders etc i am sure i read of ways to do this but could anyone prob me in the right direction? Thanks
Rustynuts
Download a program called "Picasa" (from Google). It scans your hard drive and tells you (thumbnails) all the pictures you have on there. Then you can delete the ones you have duplicated. I bet you find a few you'd forgotten about aswell. Link to Picasa.

R32North
I take it you're talking about scanning the actual pixels to check for duplication! Thats tech stuff and don't know of any handy little apps that can do that sort of thinG!
Waylander
FYI - found a range of freeware utils to do this. Am using Dup Detector - it is superb!
