Paul
Like this? Was it once an option, that became the normal spec?

Sparky
The GmbH body kit was an option, then they did a Run-out special fitted to all Sports and S-line models towards the end of 2004.
Jon
My A4 Avant 2.5 TDi Quattro 180 was one of the first in the country with the GmbH kit on it. I got it November 2003. Jon.
DanG
We had a 1.8T Avant Quattro Sport which had this kit which included, sports suspension, 17" Star alloys with 235 tyres, sports seats and the GMBH body kit. (Arrived Jan 2004) My take on it is that it was costing Audi alot of money to do this option and as it was so well received they 'down graded' the expensive sports suspension (which was a £500 option on its own), to an equally sporty setup, and changed a few bits on the body kit, slapped some nice alloys on it and then called it the S-Line. Improving profit margins a little. Now before I get flammed, the S-Line has great suspension, just not quite the same as the Sport had. We did a comparison between ours and a friends, and the Sport was a little lower than the S-Line, and bits of the body kit were different. (Rear Valence being one part I think). Finally, it was probably the best everyday car I have owned, great fun to drive, practical, very quick (saw 135mph in Europe) and it looked great too (particularly when de badged). Miss it alot. See if you can get one with the chrome window surrounds, standard on the 2.4 and 3.0, but an option on the 1.8T and diesel models.
Sparky
Audi dealer told me they had to shift old stock and therfore the Bodykit was in affect a small loss-leader to get sales up before the new model arrived. Those who bought it before the cars were classed as "run-out models" would have paid more.

[/ QUOTE ] Mine's a December 2003/53 2.5 TDi Quattro and has the full Quattro Sport gmbh kit, suspension etc. It also has the chrome window strips - I thought these were std - but I find it difficult understanding what is standard and what is extra on Audis
DanG
You and me both! Its always interesting when picking up a new A4 to see what you get (and what you dont anymore!) as opposed to what you ordered!! Mind you, that said yours is a V6 isnt it? I think anything with a V had the chrome suround back then..... Ah those were the days.....
UBM
It's all extra now - £130 for the alu window trim on my B6 A4 GmbH Sport and a £130 option on my B7!
