NewNiceMrMe
Are any of you GTi boys going to come out of your warm little home in here and venture up to Holy Island in Northumberland for a TSN Meet? You'll find all the details in the Meets Section but it's this Sunday and discounted Fish & Chip's are on offer courtesy of a Tweenie with a mate who batters sea creatures. It'd be good to see a MkV GTi or two at this one.
RedRobin
Hmmm....Nothern Fish & Chips sounds tempting. Are there any prizes for who travels the furthest? I'm West Dorset!! When is it? That Meets Section thread goes on forever and seems to have changed course.

RedRobin
Very generous of him....But as he has a Beemer he must be filthy rich person! So he won't notice the Optimax as well. Anyway, he's found true love, so he'll say yes to anything!

AlanH
A tiny word of advice for those going to Holy Island - check the tide timetable carefully. Not even a GTi is likely to perform well under 6' of sea water - even running on Optimax.
RedRobin
Cheers for that advice....Something tells me you may have been particularly referring to myself! Much too far for my taste - nearly Scotland! - and I have child commitments anyway.
AlanH
No - more general advice really. Holy Island is connected to the mainland by a causeway that is covered by the tide twice a day, as many unwary travellers have discovered to their cost. Holy Island, Northumberland - all God's Own Country and my original neck of the woods
Milo
Tide crossings have been checked and are OK and my mate has offered discounted fish and chips at his fish and chip restaurant in Seahouses
AlanH
I have very fond memories of fish and chips in Seahouses - parents had a caravan at Beadnell when I was a child. Coxon's ice cream, Craster kippers, Bamburgh Castle...I've come over all nostalgic. Sorry
