sidicks
My wife and I had a decent test drive on Saturday at my local dealer of both the Carerra 2S and 4S, and although there was very little between them, I have decided to go for the 4S. Planned spec is as follows: - Atlas Grey Metallic paint - Black leather interior - Parking sensors - Rains sensors / Auto headlights - Tyre pressure monitor - Home-link - Cruise control - Adaptive sports seats - Heated seats - Sat Nav - CD autochanger - Sports Exhaust - Sports shifter - Fatter spoke sports steering wheel (subject to change, once I have seen a car with this option, because the standard rim seemed too thin compared to the wheel on my current M3) Just have to wait for 3-4 months now until it arrives!! Gareth - My M3 will be coming your way to sell in February !! Sidicks
Dave
A man after my own heart.. I could be very tempted to do exactly what you have.. and the spec looks impressive too!
DHA
Nice car and great choice on colour. Re the steering wheel, the M3 is a very thick wheel compared to most others and Porsche in particular is thin. But the feel from any Porsche is amazing and almost helped by the thinner wheel. Lucky boy!
ChadW
Nice car mate, but not sure about the wife test driving bit, then again I notice you specced parking sensors after all!

sidicks
Yep, I want to St Austell 6th Form college between 1989 and 1991 for my A-levels (I got 4 A's so it must have been a high quality establishment !!) Sidicks

sidicks
'fraid I was too big a girl to be playing rugby back in 1989 - table tennis, tennis and golf were my specialities !
MattR32
Well I did mine three years later - I didn't get 4 As though as I was far too busy surfing, drinking and pulling unsuspecting public school girls. Dave - St Austell was cack at rugby so I didn't bother but my previous school, Wadebridge , has produced England player Olly Barclay (who I know) and the school before that (RGS Guildford in Surrey) is one of the best rugby schools in the UK so ner (I played scrum half in the A's). MattR32
Oh yes - That too. One of my favourite new cars. In fact probably THE favourite.
Adam
very nice spec esp. the zorst although I'd dump the - Tyre pressure monitor - Home-link and get Bose (why have you opted for those two btw?)
sidicks
I'm notoriously lazy at checking tyre pressures, and this system has a visual display of each individual tyre's pressure (rather than just a warning when one tyre is low, as on the M3 monitoring system), which could be useful. Home-link is for our electric garage door (but I may decide to take this off and save £175!!) - supposedly you are also able to link this to a home alarm system, but I'm not sure how this works. sidicks
gizze
I would definitely save £175 on that and pay a little more and get an automatic door opener... http://www.radar-detector-shop.co.uk/products/lt400.htm

richyA3
whats the sports shifter?
DHA
Reduces the shift travel of the gearbox. WELL worth it in my opinion. And others who have the standard shift but have sat in my sport shift equipped car.

[/ QUOTE ] On my test drive I was able to try the short shifter on the C4S and then immediately after, try the normal gearshift on the C2S. The short shifter has a much shorter throw which does seem much more sporty. The penalty is apparently slightly more effort is required when the gearbox is cold. DHA
Yes on cold mornings selecting 1st and 2nd is difficult until the gearbox it warm. But a small penalty to pay IMO
