harminder
Was just about to pop into my local VW dealer and was just wanted to know what oil I would need? Rustynuts
The new spec which all dealers should be holding stock of now is VW 504.00.
harminder
Ive got some VW 504.00 (for my S3) but I thought that was for the long service interval cars?
Rustynuts
VAG spec 507.00 is for long life interval.
R32North
It'll be in the book. Just buy from A1 or Halfords as they stock oil to the correct spec!
harminder
Thanks guys, wanted to go on the way back from work and so did not have the book with me.. Anyhow, just to let you know the dealer gave me vw 505.00, which he said is for the standard 10k service intervals... It does say on the back of the bottle that it can be used instead of 500.00, which is what is recommended in my book! Also just had a look at my Longlife III oil and it says on the back: SAE 5W-30, VW 504.00/507.00, which suggests they are the same thing.. Wish they made it simple
Rustynuts
507.00 includes the same spec as 504.00. It [507.00] does the same lubrication job, but goes for longer oil change intervals.
