cruiser647
Picked up a replacement car for the missus 3dr DCi Clio. Got an one owner Bora TDi (115) Y reg. Picked it up today, and drove it the 30 miles home. Wow - what a drive! Great! Was well impressed. 6 speed, 4x leccy windows etc etc. Silver with black inerds. The pick-up before 1500 rpm is a bit poo, but once that magic 1500 is reached - whooowhoooo and off we go! I think she will like it - especially the blue facia glow. Obviously sounds like a tractor, but she is used to a 4 cyl engine so should be fine.
NewNiceMrMe
Funny you should mention that blue (lilac as my wife called it) fascia glow......my wife still mentions her old Passat 1.8T with fond affection about the dash lights! She loved the colour to bits and really misses it! She hated the rest of the car. We've had a Bora TDi as a loan car before though and it was a little rocket (I think it was a higher bhp than 115 though, it was a Sport thingy). It sounds like a good buy and I was certainly quite surprised with the one we had for a few days.
MOSE
I had a Golf Polo on hire for a few days and that had the blue glow and I really liked it, provoked me to enquire about getting new facia leds in the Monaro. Quite like the blue.

colly
ive got to say i rarely see the counter below 1500rpm unless im from standstill start..
colly
not from a 'I drive fast' point of view but seriously if I set of below 1000rpm feels like it could stall and by the time im driving its well above 1500rpm in each gear, even at cruising speeds. pingpongpo
Recommended to keep revs at least 1500rpm

cruiser647
[ QUOTE ] Recommended to keep revs at least 1500rpm [/ QUOTE ] Yep. This was me driving it back from Harrow. Also, used to an auto rather than a 6-spd manual. So, thought I might as well see what the pick-up from below 1500 rpm is in each gear (as I could) on the motorway. So I can 'educate' the missus!!!! (don't tell her that!)
simonb
Mines a 110 bhp HDI (not a VW!) with apparently 5 bhp overboost whatever that is. I am impressed with the pickup. 4th gear on the motorway is great for getting into gaps in the traffic!!
