hel
Hi, I have just made the decision to change my CTR for an R32 which I am very excited about although feel sad to let the CTR go as it's been a really good fun car to drive. Would like to know exactly what comes with my car, but can only find details about the new R32. Are the speakers Bose? Also the car I'm getting has built in sat nav, does that still come with a CD changer?
R32North
Hi and welcome! The MKIV R32 is a great car but completely different from your CTR. Speakers are not BOSE and yes SAT Nav cars still do have a CD function / changer.
hel
Thanks for that, I thought I read about Bose speakers, maybe that was for the new R32.
Smudge
Hi Jibe, and Welcome to TSN. Info on your car MkIV: Speakers for the R32 are just bog standard VW ones, Bose was not an option. Options were as follows: Colours - not many and always get this bit wrong, but seeing as you've chosen your car it's a bit irrelevant! Interior - 3 options: Monte Carlo cloth & leatherette Grey Leather / Alcantara Full Black leather interior Stereo: Normal VW Gamma with 6 disc in the dash VW Delta "digital" stereo with single disc in dash & 6 disc in the boot. VW full colour sat nav, with 6 disc in the boot. Other options: Sunroof & cruise control. And I think thats it. Amongst us we seem to be able to cover off most questions, so anything you need to check, just ask. What's your spec then??

hel
Well it's got full leather and VW sat nav. I didn't realise it came with a changer with sat nav, admittedly I didn't look in the boot (I am a girl!) So I hope there will be one in there when I pick it up next Saturday! hel
I've heard you can do something to the exhaust, something to do with a valve or something, makes it sound better - is that right? Although I think it sounds pretty good anyway!
Smudge
[ QUOTE ] (I am a girl!) [/ QUOTE ] You shouldn't say that too loud in here . . . . too much testosterone some times. Edit: before I foget, take a look around at the other forums, there loads more to TSN than just R32 chat & banter. LOOK!
hel
sorry!!! But girls do have good choices in cars too you know!
paulhaines
Jibe, Welcome! You heard correctly. There is a valve onthe exhaust system that feeds in air to the system below 30mph to keep the sound down. A simple zip tie on the hose will stop the air getting in (it's alos rumored on Vortex that this gives you a free 10bhp gain). I think if you do a search for exhaust mod's it should show up. Smudge
[ QUOTE ] sorry!!! [/ QUOTE ] No need to appologise, just a warning! [ QUOTE ] But girls do have good choices in cars too you know! [/ QUOTE ] I know, wasn't knocking the choice (though you did mention the CTR before . . . . . ) Oh, and try this thread for the valve mod. Either way, they are rare, but most appear to be beauties Welcome Jibe BTW
