I test drove one before I bought my 2.0T and was impressed. The 6 cylinder engine sounds very good and had pretty good all round performance. Similar to a BMW 330 petrol. I decided on the 2,0t in the end because performance wise isnt far off the 3.2, economy wise is quite alot better. The engine noise was tempting though.

Pound for pound the 2.0T is better. If you are a real petrol head, find a few extra quid and buy an S4

Interesting. A 2.0T Quattro saloon is coming out at £3200 less than the equivalent spec 3.2 FSI Quattro saloon.

When I factor in bits and bobs with my mileage claim rates and residuals, over 3 years the 3.2 does not cost a great deal more to own/run.

A new S4 is not even an option - it is coming in at over £8,500 more than the 3.2Q (£11,700+ more than the 2.0TQ blush.gif)

As I understand it, the DTMs weren't discounted at all though - will the special edition be do you know?

If it isn't and there is a sizeable discount on the 3.2, the gap might not be very big between the 2.

The 3.2 looks expensive on paper but comes with Quattro - if I was getting a 220 bhp car, I think I'd want Quattro.

It would be interesting to see what the the spec is on the special edition 169144-ok.gif

As you can gather, the new car plans are still not set in stone crazy.giftongue.gifsmashfreakB.gif

I'll throw my 2 p'enth worth in here. I've covered less than 1000 miles in my 2.0T in the last 8 weeks or so - but I can honestly say, it's a cracking engine.

I may have said this b4, but every car I've owned (up to the Audi), in the last 15 years, or so, has had some form of 'V' engine. The burble is the only thing lacking in the 2.0T.

At 200 PS it would be by far the most powerful car I have owned and I have no doubt it would feel like it to.

The thing is though, I've never had that 'V' burble that you are missing now and I may only get 2 more cracks at a new car before I am forced back into a Company Car Scheme of Doom.

That is a big factor in my current turmoil confused.gif

I was at my local dealers day inquiring about the special edition S-Line. The OTR price for a quattro avant is £26,545. I understand it can be ordered with or without quattro (and of course as a saloon). As it's not a limited edition I'm sure discounts will be available. My dealer (Poole) is getting two demos in after Christmas.
