purple_nurple
Hi I've been noticing recently that when I move my wifes car at night and in the morning to box my Audi in, her car has been icing up while mine is still clear. My wife commented on it on Sunday also when she was leaving work late at night, her friends car was iced over, but the Audi didn't even need the blowers on. The only explanation I can think of is that my car is well waxed and polished, where as the wifes car is filthy. The Audi is only 3 months old. Anyone else seeing this? cleanimage
Yes, it helps. And if it ices up, wax will prevent the ice from sticking. So try putting it on your windscreen.

Oivind
You can use glass polish. Works great to prevent dew and ice in the fall.

UBM
Yep - RainX helps prevent icing to a degree. It contains polysiloxanes which bind to the glass and prevent water sticking to it!

Andrew
A German colleague told me that he had seen a study where products such as Rain-X weakened the glass and made it more prone to cracking. He didn't send me any backup reports so all I have to go on is his word. I've not used my Rain-X since though!
s4_sat
i've used Mer on my a4 and it worked for a bit then it didn't.
petsy
that's interesting but seing that rain-x only coats the glass's surface I really can't see how it would weaken the glass
Tomk
depends on how hard you polish it in !
