My DIS does not show the driver's door open, the lights on warning buzzer does not work and the interior light does not come on when the driver's door is open, are all these separate problems or could they all be down to the door pin sticking? Not serious but feekin anoying and as she's due a service in 800 miles mite get it sorted then, thanks in advance

The door open switch not working would cause all these problems - that's part of the door lock, so the stealer will probably tell you that you need a new door lock because service parts are not available. fekr.gif

Alternatively you could do like a colleague did on his A3 and adjust it yourself (remove door trim and lock) - he just had to bend the operating lever slightly. ha.gif

  • 2 weeks later...

Any idea how to remove the pins themselves (2002 S8 in my case)? - I have some Richbrook alloy ones to fit & don't want to get the door panel off if there is a simple unscrew (had a tentative go, but seemed to be too tight to turn by hand, & don't want to get the pliers out, knackering the originals)

Cheers
