Sponge
One way to find out. It's certainly possible. The lead required should be cheap and easy to find. In my old car I connected my iPod to the auxiliary input on the rear of head unit using such a lead. It was from the headphone socket on the iPod though, so I had to have the volume on the iPod turned up. Try it.

danksy
Which screen flickers... the ipod, or the Headunit? Nothing should flicker mate since the ipod thinks it is just powering a set of headphones
