pingpongpo
As you may know from my previous posts i'm going snowboarding for the first time in January and need to sort some insurance out. What is the best company for cover/price comparison?
scooby_simon
I use Snowcard as they will cover me for Skiing Off piste (with and without a guide), but they do also cover lower risk skiiers etc.
Rustynuts
I did our holiday insurance online with this lot. We weren't skiing so no winter sports cover for us, but ice skating was covered without wintersports. They were the cheapest I could find but don't know how they compare for what you want. Sponge
I've always found these guys very competitive.
neo283
I got an annual european multi-trip policy with 17 days winter sports cover for £39 from egg.com. Think you need to have an egg card to qualify though.
pingpongpo
I think I need a maginifying glass to go through all the fine print some of these policies offer!!
neo283
tell me about it!!! I go with the theory of the more cash they offer to cover you when you reak your face, the better. It's an exspensive job getting a chopper out to save your ass. Just make sure it's got no get out clauses like "you should always be with a guide". Also make sure chopper transport is included. Try and get some extras too - skidoo cover, off piste ski, snowboard park etc. I know someone that didn't realise she wasn't covered for skidoo excursions. She crushed a nerve in her spine when she floored it over a mogul. Was off work for 6 months and isn't covered for any treatments. Had to move back in with her parents to afford healthcare costs and be looked after!

All the above is why I use snowcard. You can add / remove the covers you want. I have OP ski without a guide (28 days PA), inshore / off shore sailing etc. Maybe this is why it was £100 last year
