sayerbloke
I especially love the way they included the "under the bonnet" shot, like it might be some sort of selling point...

Neimad
Glad to see that unlike some barry boys that just tack on a load of plastic panels and a new set of alloys, this one has put some serious thought in to the need for rear downforce to keep that almighty Rover 420 pinned to the ground... mccombie_5
Is this the wrong time to say that I had a 214i in that bodystyle? It was crap After 6 months of owning it I sold it to my dad's wife, who sold it to my sister. It died last year with 130,000 miles and a warped cylinder head. Ah what a lovely car, I dont know why I bought it, I really dont. Notice the Tipp-Ex repiat on the front bumper where the paint was coming off. mccombie_5
LOL It was all over the front bumper! It had a plastic spoiler when I bought it. It began to rust so my sister had it tekan off and left it in her garage.
Chris_B
[ QUOTE ] Is this the wrong time to say that I had a 214i in that bodystyle? [/ QUOTE ] I was given one as a company car once, an upgrade from the elderly (and knackered) Escort 1.4 that I had before that, as the boss thought I might be planning to leave. I was, and did. mccombie_5
Theyre really bad!! The steering was SO heavy. I can only say one good thing for it, that it had VERY comfortable front seats, although a family run with five of us in it to Berwick wasnt fantastic. Ironic really. I had a brand new Citroen XM sitting outside the house with a broken suspension part, so we had to take the Rover. It was a comfortable drive for me and the wife, but the 13, 4, and 3 year olds in the back were less than happy!
Chris_B
[ QUOTE ] The steering was SO heavy. [/ QUOTE ] No kidding, about a week after I got "upgraded", I took a junction as I would have done in the Escort, and because it just wouldn't turn at the same rate, I ended up almost taking a bollard out, and did manage to kerb the nearside front wheel so hard that the tyre burst. Oops. And people call Audis fecking barges!
mccombie_5
LOL! Indeed, I had trouble getting used to it. Hell, 1993 was a bad year for me! It was a nightmare to park, it did 105mph flat out with a wind behind you, the rear windows would be sucked in and out at speed, my what a terrible motor, my dads wife did the best, after she had it a while, she went to take a turn, went straight on and got stuck in a hedge. I had to go down with the Range Rover and pull it out! Plough on understeer
