Why can't I copy my photos?

I tried to back my photos up to a CD, but there's too many of them.

Someone suggested I buy a DVD and back them up to that (much more capacity).

Got a DVD-R, put in DVD drive.

Went to "My Pictures", right clicked "Pictures" (the file with all my photos in), clicked "Send to", chose the D drive and it came up with

Windows encountered a problem when trying to copy this folder. What do you want to do? Retry, Skip, Cancel.

Obviously Retry just gets the same message. smashfreakB.gif

Any thoughts? crazy.gif

I use Nero to burn mine.

Select data disc, select files, Burn.

ive never written a DVD using the windows send to command.

infact, having just looked at that very menu, only the CD-RW dive is listed out of all of my 3 drives.

(DVD rom, CD-RW, DVD RW)

Top suggestion Paul, that works! 169144-ok.gif

Now the next snag, there's 1,462 mb of photos, and it only allows up to about 700mb it looks like. smashfreakB.gif

Seems to be working with Nero, except for lack of space.

Seems mad, how do they get films on them? confused.gif

When you say to create a new complication there is a little drop down box at the top left (I think) which lets you choose between CD and DVD smile.gif

Oh this is just fuccking unbelievable!

Twice I've burned it to disc, twice the disc is empty afterwards.

So I eject the disc and it come up with a wizard telling me there are files waiting to be burned to disc. So I put disc back in and ask it to burn and it tells me it's the wrong sort of disc, it wants a writable CD!

FFS!!!! smashfreakB.gifsmashfreakB.gifsmashfreakB.gifsmashfreakB.gifsmashfreakB.gifsmashfreakB.gifsmashfreakB.gif
