[/ QUOTE ] The dealer should be your first point of call. Then you know what sort of cost to expect, it may suprise you. I bought some rear pads for my sister's A3 1.8t the other day - £25 all in - not bad at all If they were £80 I probably would've gone elsewhere.... Nelson_R32
Dealer Parts do actually work out allot cheaper than German and Swedish etc. G&S and Unipart have a habit of 'upping' their quoted MRP prices.

bradw
Looks like RAC Warranty are going to cover the repair. Sweet. Getting it fixed on wednesday.. just hope that it is indeed the bearing failure, and not needing new hub/shock..

I'm just about to start my 20th year in the trade and speak from experience, believe me! Always makes me laugh when a punter says, "I've tried everywhere and nowhere stocks it". I always thank them for trying us (the dealer) last......... Mintex is a good name and £8 is a great price, but like I said £25 for a set of Audi pads in a VAG box.... Well, it's not exactly the national debt, is it? BUB
bradw
RAC warranty only cover labour charges of £36 per hour! So no chance of using the stealer... got it fixed at nationwide autocentres in the end, who deal with RAC warranty claims all the time. They did a top job, and everything went according to plan.
