Thorburn
I'm still considering the Fiesta if I don't sell it in time, but I need to find out about insurance. Can you add a car to an existing policy?
Soapsuds
unsure - insurance_jon has all the tips and tricks of the trade. I **think** you can temporarilly -i.e if your other car is off the road for repairs....
BenjaminTDI
I would really like to do this but this year is going to be a bit difficult as I am going to try and go on hols that week, it's the first week my other half is off work so we'd like to get away, I don't think she'd be too happy about going to the ring in a clapped out old 525i (which is probably what i'd choose for 1k). Is there going to be another one?
Soapsuds
i suppose if this one is a success, then yes! That is down to Omi and Jon..... however, the stress caused planning this one around Le Mans and the world cup might just finish them off!!! Mook
[ QUOTE ] I'm still considering the Fiesta if I don't sell it in time, but I need to find out about insurance. Can you add a car to an existing policy? [/ QUOTE ] Depends on your insurer, but yes, you should be able to. Whenever we have bought a new car and sold the old one privately, we've always changed the policy to the new car and then added the old car to the existing policy for a month (if you see what I mean) and told them it is being insured while we sell it. Normally costs about £40 for the month (but that was for "sensible" cars like Mrs Mook's GT TDIs). Give 'em a ring and ask. I totally endorse Avant's nudge - Mook + 1 are doing the Scumball, although having previously secured a sound car for £310, it's now completely dead (fortunately we hadn't parted with the cash), so we've got to choose between a Mk2 Golf GTI , a 1988 Merc 500 SE or a 92 Accord 2.2... Soapsuds
awwww mate - it has to be the Mk2 Golf GTi - i used to have an 8valver, just before the big-bumper model - stunning motor and very quick with non-16v low down grunt..... It was my pride and joy till a 7.5 tonne Amtrack white van piled into the back of me and wrote it off - me nearly with it! Still refuse to use Amtrack to this day for courier work! Mook
Mk2 GTI is what we're leaning towards - I had five of the feckers - I'm sure it'll bring back some memories
