Is there not a button on the underside of the right hand indicator/windsreen wiper arm lever next to the steering wheel that switches it on or off?

I could be wrong but have a look grin.gif

as for a price for your car someone else may be able to help your more, people would prob need more details or the car to give you a fair price smile.gif

yes there is, the button on the end of the stalk toggles through info on / off etc and the button you mention if you press and hold resets the mpg mph etc. however all it seems to do now is toggle through mpg, mph etc and off. No navigation info. whats happened anyone any ideas

your correct the button on the end toggle's through the different menu's, but the button on the underside of the stalk has got "reset" written on it if you press that just once instead of holding it-it then switches that display panel on/off on the dashboard.

Tried that and doesn't work it just toggles between blank screen and mph, mpg etc info. i have had this car for 2 years so reasonably familiar with things and something is missing, the top section of the display won't even show radio and cd info as well as navigation. i have the display info set on the computer so tried that. I am at a complete loss as to why this info should have disappeared.

You haven't been near a VAG-COM have you? There's certain codings that tell the car's systems what optional equipment is installed, and enable/disable various pieces of functionality. It sounds to me like somehow your car's dash no longer thinks it has nav installed or something.

Anyone who knows their way about with VAG-COM and knows a bit about the A8 shoul dbe able to confirm, otherwise I think that's a dealer job with all (the money) that entails...
