Regulator
I need to buy some SD ram for my PC and am not sure if its 100mhz or 133mhz. Does it matter which is already in there, or do i need to buy exactly the same type? Also, can I mix and match them. I have 128 in there at the moment, maybe 2*64's or 1*128mb, is it ok if i put a 512 chip in there to increase the total RAM?
Thorburn
What sort of age and specification is it? Are we talking about a Pentium MMX? Pentium 4? Athlon? There are many different types of memory and I'm guessing you are talking PC133 judging by the current quantities. If it is then get PC133 and it should be fine regardless of if the system runs it at 100 or 133, a pair of 256MB modules may be a better bet for compatibility than one 512MB but even that should be fine. richy_uk
I've got some spare PC133 - 1 x 256mb, 1 x 128mb and 1 x 64mb. PM me if you're interested.
cruiser647
Depends upon your motherboard, and if the SD-RAM modules are single or double sided. Some board will not take single sided 512Mb, as the board cannot address it. BUT most board shoudl run decent quality 133MHz stuff even if designed for 66MHz/100MHz stuff. As Thorburn said, better to put in 28256's than risk a 512Mb. How many slots? Modern SD-Boards will be OK.

Thorburn
A pair of PC133 256MB modules should do the job nicely.

aal234
if you go to crucial.com/uk you can use the memory config thing you put in the machine type and it lets you know what ram that machine will take. They even garauntee it to work as long as you buy through the config tool.
