DannyB
I`ve not had my 1999 A3 Quattro very long so i may be guessing at this one! I had a wheel wobble when braking so I checked out all the brakes. The front discs and pads were very new and look spot on, the rear ones were worn so i replaced these thinking that they could be warped. The wobble is now not as severe but is still there! Is there a chance that this wobble could be linked to my Haldex system? I dont know if the Haldex oil or filter has ever been changed. I know it should be done every 20000 miles. The car made a klunking noise the other day when reversing around a corner (only done it this once) and I can hear a whining noise when just coasting along, coming up to junctions etc. The whining isn`t to loud but i`ve not driven another quattro to see if they all do it! Can anyone give me some advice!
DHA
Could be a wheel bearing that has gone.
DannyB
I bet add that i`ve checked all suspension bushes, roll bars and bushes, wheel bearings and made sure the discs are seated on the hubs and wheels are seated on the disc properly! DHA
Could be a problem with the differentials. I can't recall if Haldex oil changes get stamped in the service book or not. Maybe call an Audi dealer with your VIN number and just ask them to look up the service history.
