LeeST
Painted the black bits on the bottom of the bumpers and sills? I have a 2001 A4 in silver, liked it when i got it, but the more i see the 'fully colour coded' ones the more i prefer them. Any ideas what sort of price i should expect to pay a decent bodyshop for them spraying?? Do they just unclip to make spraying easier? Anyone else had theirs done?? DHA
Someone a while ago had their S3 fully colour coded and it was a tough job for the paint shop trying to get the finish the same. I think it peeled in the end.
Drewcam
My mate had a silver Y reg A4 sport without the GMBH kit wich meant he had black sills front and rear (and possibly sides ??) He got his colour coded to match the rest of the car and it looked great. If its done properly it will not peel as they spray something onto the black first to make the paint stick. gizze
Loads of guys in the states had theirs done and no prolems even after a few years. Makes the car look so much better when done.
BenjaminTDI
I would say just get the GMBH kit like John_Carter has on his A4, it looks fantastic on the B6.
J_C
Thanks Ben. Yes, the GmbH/S-line kit is the way to go IMO and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it. Here are some before and after pics of my car:

thefast1
I had my A4 front, back & side Lowers painted at Audi dealers, cost me £750 inc VaT, the car originally went in for a slight dink in the rear side (insurance Job) so they had to take the rear bumper off anyway otherwise they said it would be more because of the labour to take off and refit the rear bumper, they have to put some sort of coating on the plastic in order for the paint to stick, the only problem I had was that there was a hammerite ripple effect on the new paint which they say is because the paint is soft when they try and buff the parts off the vehicle they cannot apply to much pressure as the plastic bumpers flex so I had to take the car back after a few weeks when the paint had time to harden and then they could buff the paintwork again and apply more pressure to the areas as there was now more resistance when the parts are fitted, if that makes sense. The car is black and it sets it of nicely now.
j1mmy
I have thought of this myself, anyone know what the GMBH kit would cost to buy and fit ?

J_C
[ QUOTE ] If you don't mind us asking, how much, John? [/ QUOTE ] I can't remember the exact prices, but it was in the region of £6-700 for the parts and about a grand for spraying and fitting (although that did include the refurbishment of all four wheels). Despite getting a fair discount on the parts from a friendly Audi dealership, I probably would've been quite a bit better off buying them from vagparts had I known about them at the time. The work was carried out to an extremely high standard by an Audi-approved bodyshop in Gloucestershire. They weren't cheap but their service was outstanding and I was very pleased with the results.
