darrensneddon
Been thinking about investing in an Ipod video and Dension ice link and connecting via the multichanger port. This will be quite a hefty hit to the wallet so I need to know that the sound quality is up there with CD!! Ive tried a mates ipod video through a standard HU using an FM transimitter and was really dissapointed. Also tried the Ipod through home seperates system using co-axial cable and again the volume had to be cranked up on the amp (far more than when using CD player) - sound quality was ok at best. Think problem lies with the Ipod giving out a small signal that looses quality when amplified?
scotw
I just got mine fitted last week and I'm pretty happy. Quality is far better than FM and as close to CD as I can tell with the default VW setup. Its not a perfect setup, but a lot more music for much the same price as the CD changer. Overall Im pleased I went for it

jonathansargent
I'm not hooking my iPod to the GTi, but I do use it at home with the stereo - get the Apple docking unit - holds the iPOD and charges it and gives an out put to you stereo which is not affected by the volume control of the iPOD. It's a fabulius way to get a hard disc player on your PC. the other way is to use Airport express to play all the tunies in yout iTunes folder on your PC or mac through your stereo... [/ QUOTE ] I use Airport Express at home and it's great! iTunes 6.02 can transmit to more than one Airport Express now too, which is very cool.
